Bazaar Berlin exhibits fair trade fashion
• Fair Trade Market supports the Textiles Alliance
• Bazaar Berlin takes place from 18 to 22 November 2015
Berlin, 22 July 2015 – Following the successful launch of the Fair Trade Market at last year’s event, in November 2015 Bazaar Berlin, the exhibition for handicrafts, will be taking the idea a step further. For the first time it is organising a section featuring fair trade fashion, where consumers, trade visitors and retailers can find out about the fair trade collections of numerous suppliers, how the Textiles Alliance came into being, and about the certification of textiles. Visitors can get to know the companies in question and find out where to shop for fair trade textiles.
The meeting point for those interested in fair trade fashion is a stand designed with the support of Engagement Global and AG Fair Trade Market. The new section can be found in Hall 15 at Bazaar Berlin.
Barbara Mabrook, the project manager of Bazaar Berlin: “Bazaar Berlin has been keen on showing fair trade textiles for some time. However, this is the first time that the topic will take centre stage at an event. It means that Bazaar Berlin is sending out a clear message of support for the Textiles Alliance that was set up last October. We also want to make a contribution towards improving the social, economic and ecological conditions within the entire textile and clothing supply chain.“
As part of the preparations for the new trade fair section letters have been written to specialist companies in Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and Sweden. Besides hosting their own stands five companies will also be able to exhibit fair trade fashion collections on the combined stand of Engagement Global. Parallel with the exhibition there will also be lectures on the topic of fair trade textiles.
