SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY - AN IMPORTANT CONCERN FOR BAZAAR BERLIN

FAIR & SOCIAL - FAIR TRADE CONNECTS

Combining good business with social responsibility is an important concern of Bazaar Berlin. Since the fair began as a development event in 1962, it has regularly supported and promoted programs for the ethically correct, fairly traded and sustainable production of goods. In 2014, Bazaar Berlin received its own clearly marked fair trade exhibition area, the FAIR TRADE MARKET. In 2021, the FAIR & SOCIAL theme world will celebrate its premiere at Bazaar Berlin where fair trade products will be on display alongside offers from social institutions, socially responsible companies and organizations.

Within this framework we have been cooperating with the following organizations, among others, for over 10 years:

SEMINARS, WORKSHOPS AND PROJECT SHOWS FOR TOLERANCE AND AGAINST XENOPHOBIA

Since 2001, exemplary projects to promote tolerance and combat xenophobia with young people from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania have been presented with the support of the Deutsch-Simbabwische Gesellschaft e.V.. These include the campaigns "Arbitration instead of Judgment", "Don't Give Nazis a Chance" and "School without Racism - School with Courage". Participants are students from the 9th to 12th grade from various schools in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The young people conduct seminars on the above topics at the Import Shop and discuss the results of their work with visitors to the fair and representatives of the German Bundestag and other institutions.

Project reports are available from DSG at www.deutsch-simbabwische-gesellschaft.de.
